Beta alanine improves the performance by fighting acidification (increase in H+ ions) during short and intensive exertions. Beta alanine increases the amount of carnosine that can neutralize H+ ions, which works especially during intensive exertions of one to six minutes.

Can be used during:

  • Team sports such as football and hockey (repeated short intensive sprints).
  • Endurance sports which include multiple sprints (interval training or multiple sprints).
  • Strength sports, CrossFit and fitness with long sets (several repetitions).
  • Martial arts such as boxing and judo (multiple throws).
  • Athletics (400 to 1500 meter), swimming (100 to 400 meter).

Additional information

  • An intake between 4 and 6 grams is recommended in practice for the charging phase. In a period of 5 to 6 weeks this will provide a significant increase in the amount of carnosine.
  • Half a dosage will be sufficient (2 to 3 grams) to stabilize the carnosine stock after the charging phase.
  • An intake of 1 gram a time may cause tingling (paresthesia) in the hands fingers and face shortly after the intake.
  • Combine intake with a carbohydrate rich meal. Insulin improves the uptake.
  • Nine weeks after stopping the supplementation the carnosine levels will have returned to normal.
  • Beta alanine works for both recreational and well-trained athletes.
  • A high intake can cause tingling in the arms, face and hands (paresthesia). Spread the dosages over the day.
  • To improve the performance Caffeine Gold can be advised as well.
