Eveline Saalberg started athletics at the age of seven, but it wasn’t until she was 20 and unexpectedly became the Dutch champion in the 400-meter hurdles that she seriously started considering a career in elite sports.

A key moment in Eveline’s career was the decision to temporarily pause her medical studies to fully focus on her athletic career. “Pausing my studies was a risk, but I haven’t regretted it for a moment,” Eveline says.
