In order to support you in this to the best of our ability, all of our product pages are provided with clear and comprehensive descriptions. In addition, Virtuoos has developed a unique supplements test to give you personal advice based on your needs, habits, and goals.
Why are Virtuoos dietary supplements relatively expensive?
Our guiding principle is to develop products of the highest quality. When selecting our raw materials (organic active ingredients), we draw on a global network of suppliers. Quality is one of the three core values of our organization. When it comes to product development, we always prioritize quality over price. In our opinion, the quality of a dietary supplement rests entirely on its effectiveness. Our end products contain expensive, effective, and exclusive extracts, which explains the relatively higher consumer price. Virtuoos dietary supplements are manufactured in a high-end production environment (GMP) and all batches are approved by the Doping Authority Netherlands (NZVT). This translates into a relatively expensive end product that is effective, pure, and safe.
What's the difference between good and bad dietary supplements?
A good dietary supplement does what it promises, contains beneficial ingredients (organic active ingredients), is safe, and is tailored to the target group. Lower-quality supplements do not work as expected. Little to no thought has gone into the composition of the ingredients and the dosage is insufficient.
I’m a professional athlete. Is it safe to use dietary supplements by Virtuoos according to the NZVT?
Yes. We signed a promotional agreement that allows us to use the NZVT logo on all of our dietary supplement packages. This means all of our dietary supplements are automatically approved by the Doping Authority Netherlands (NZVT). In addition to being listed on the Doping Authority Netherlands website, the NZVT logo on the package is a direct communication method preferred by elite athletes that makes it instantly clear that our supplements contain no performance enhancing substances.
Can I combine dietary supplements with medication?
Most dietary supplements can be taken alongside medications, but there are exceptions. For example, anti-coagulant medication should never be combined with high doses of vitamin K. If you take prescription medication, always check the label for warnings about possible interactions with other substances. When in doubt, consult your doctor, therapist, or chemist.
Can I combine Virtuoos dietary supplements?
Like combining different foods, it’s possible to combine dietary supplements. For example, you could take a multivitamin with a fish oil or glucosamine capsule. If you decide to combine dietary supplements, make sure there isn’t too much overlap in the ingredients.
Are Virtuoos dietary supplements always safe?
Dutch law strictly regulates the quality and safety of dietary supplements. As a result, dietary supplements available in the Netherlands are generally considered safe. Most ingredients in food are also safe. However, excessive consumption of anything is never healthy. This applies to food and to supplements. Virtuoos therefore has all product batches approved by certified laboratories. This ranges from strict identity and quality control of the raw materials and production process to a meticulous final inspection of the end product.
Are natural vitamins better than synthetic vitamins?
Natural vitamins aren’t always more effective than synthetic ones, and this differs per vitamin. For example, vitamin E and provitamin A (beta-Carotene) are more easily absorbed in their natural form, while vitamin B12 is more easily absorbed in a synthetic (pill) form than from food. Sometimes a synthetic form is preferred because it’s not always possible to process vitamins from a natural source.
Can I trust everything on the Virtuoos label?
Dutch law strictly regulates label contents and only permits the inclusion of health claims if they have been scientifically proven. Sometimes, false claims are included on a label or in an advertisement. Such claims are always investigated by the Dutch government and the Advertising Code Commission (KOAG/KAG inspection board). Virtuoos has all of its dietary supplements carefully inspected by the KOAG/KAG before they are marketed to ensure that all health claims included on the package have been approved.
How do I know if the indicated dose is correct?
If your total intake of nutrients from food and supplements meet the recommended daily allowance (RDA) and are considered within safe margins, you have nothing to worry about. A safe level is the amount at which long-term daily use has not been shown to cause any health problems. This safe level is often many times higher than the one set by the RDA.
What’s on the label?
The label always includes the word ‘dietary supplement’. It also contains the composition of the product, the use-by date, and recommended use. It’s important to adhere to the recommended use instructions, unless advised otherwise by a doctor or specialist.
Why should I take a dietary supplement during or immediately after a meal?
Food contains enzymes that improve the absorption of the dietary supplement. For instance, fat helps to improve the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. This is why we recommend taking our dietary supplement during or immediately after a meal. This does not apply to all supplements.

Dietary supplements by Virtuoos are available at select medical sports centres and leading personal trainers – professionals who know your personal situation and can add value to our supplements. You can submit a request using the contact form on our website, and we can put you in touch with a qualified supplier near you.
Who can take dietary supplements?
Dietary supplements are available for a wide range of target groups. There are supplements that have been specially developed for children, elite athletes, pregnant women, vegetarians, senior citizens, smokers, drinkers, people who use prescription medication, people with darker skin, and people who want to lose weight. For example, prenatal multivitamins contain extra folic acid, vitamin D, and occasionally fish oil. Dietary supplements for children contain extra calcium and vitamin D, while supplements for athletes are designed to promote recovery and performance.
Why should I take a dietary supplement?
There are a number of reasons to take a supplement. Some people find it difficult to eat a varied diet that includes two pieces of fruit and 200 grams of vegetables a day and fatty fish twice a week. In this case, a multivitamin, fish oil, or vitamin D capsules could be a good addition to a healthy diet. Sometimes your body needs extra nutrients, such as during pregnancy or periods of high stress, during exercise or chronic illness, or to support a healthy ageing process. Supplements can also help you sleep better, support strong bones, and help to maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
What are dietary supplements?
Dietary supplements are tablets, capsules, powders, or drops that contain active ingredients that benefit your health. These supplements are intended to complement nutritional intake. Vitamins are the most well-known, but products that contain minerals, herbs, fish oil, probiotics, glucosamine, and other innovative ingredients are also considered to be dietary supplements. While they may look like medication, they are not. Dietary supplements are available at chemists, health food stores, and supermarkets. More specific supplements may also be recommended by therapists, dieticians, and personal trainers.
What does the NZVT logo stand for on the package?
Various studies have shown that dietary supplements may contain performance enhancing substances. In many cases, this is not stated on the label. The use of dietary supplements is therefore risky for elite athletes and may lead to a positive result on a doping test.
With this risk in mind, we set up the Dutch Safeguard System for Dietary Supplements in Elite Sport (Nederlands Zekerheidssysteem Voedingssupplementen Topsport, NZVT). The system offers dietary supplement producers the opportunity to have their products inspected. This is done per batch (a specific quantity of products produced at one time). All packages in this batch are given the same batch number, which can be found on the logo near the use-by date.
How do I place an order?
Placing an order
When you order online, you can choose your preferred delivery address (e.g. home or office). You can also choose to pick up your order at a PostNL collection point near you.
You can place an order on our website in five easy steps:
- After adding an item to your cart, you can choose to finalize your order (click on ‘Order’ in your cart) or to continue shopping. If you continue shopping, your selected products will be automatically saved in your cart.
- When you have added all products to your cart, continue to the next step in the order process. Choose your preferred delivery address (home, office, or other) or choose a PostNL collection point near you.
- Log in to your account or create a new account if this is your first order.
- Check your address in the order overview. The address you entered when you created your account is automatically selected as the delivery address. You can add a new address or have your order delivered to someone else as a gift.
- Choose your payment method. Payment via iDEAL is always free. Be sure to check the delivery costs: if your order is €100 or more, delivery is free! Before you click on the orange button ‘Confirm and pay’, be sure to check your information and order details. If you spot an error, use the button at the bottom of the page to correct it.
After clicking on ‘Confirm and pay’, we will finalize and process your order.
Your order will be shipped via PostNL and is usually delivered within three business days to the address you provided. If you do not receive your order within three business days, contact Virtuoos.

Cancelling an order
Your order is shipped via PostNL. Once the package has been registered by PostNL, we will send you an e-mail with a Track & Trace code. This contains all relevant information about where your order currently is in the delivery process.

At Virtuoos you can pay with the new and even more secure payment methods offered by American Express, Eurocard/Mastercard Securecode, and Verified by Visa. If you choose to pay by credit card, the terms and conditions of the credit card company will apply. Virtuoos is not involved in the relationship between you and the card issuer. What are the delivery options?
Delivery within the Netherlands
Free delivery for orders of €100 or more. Virtuoos works with PostNL for all deliveries in the Netherlands. We charge a €4.99 shipping contribution for orders of less than €100.
Germany and Belgium
Virtuoos offers free delivery to Germany and Belgium for orders of €100 or more. For orders under €100, we charge a €7.99 shipping contribution.
PostNL does not deliver on Sundays, which means orders placed in the weekend may take longer to receive. We do our best to ensure that your order is shipped as soon as possible.
We strive to deliver all orders within 48 hours. If you place your order before 1 PM, the package will be shipped with PostNL that same day. You can opt to have your order delivered to your home address, work address, or other address. Can I return products?
Products can be returned within 14 days of delivery, no explanation required. This only applies to unopened and undamaged packages.
In the event of a return, the full purchase amount will be reimbursed and refunded within 30 days of the return receipt. Customers are responsible for covering the costs of the return shipment. If a product is not delivered in good condition, please contact our customer service department. These products must also be returned to us, after consulting with our customer service department. Items that have been clearly opened or tampered with cannot be returned, unless explicitly agreed otherwise with our customer service department.
