Lieke Klaver started athletics at the age of 8, and her love for the sport quickly grew. At 11, she was selected for the World Junior Championships in 2014 in the United States, a moment that made her decide: “Mom, I want to become the best, and I’m going to train hard for it.”

Since then, she has more than fulfilled her ambitions. In 2025, Lieke won gold at the European Indoor Championships in the 400m, and in 2024, she, together with her teammates, secured gold in the 4×400 meter mixed relay at the Paris Olympic Games.
