Krill Omega-3 Gold is the new Omega-3 generation. These unsaturated fatty acids do not come from fatty fish species but is manufactured from Krill. Krill is the comprehensive term for approximately 80 shrimplike crustaceans ranging 1 to 6 centimeters. Thanks to its unique composition from the Krill oil, the Omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA are taken up in the body much more effectively than fish oil. Krill Omega-3 Gold fits perfectly within the core supplements (professional) athletes and generally healthy people following a fitness or workout program need.

Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) play an important role in the overall health of an athlete. In relation to sport, it has a positive effect on the recoverability (reduces inflammatory response), immune system and adaptability to training. The nutrition of the average Dutch inhabitant contains too few omega-3 fatty acids.

  • A busy competition program (EPA reduces inflammatory responses after intensive efforts).

Additional information

  • Advice from Health Council: a daily intake of 200 mg omega-3 fatty acids through food.
  • One will take this in by consuming one serving of fish a week (nutritional center). Half of the Dutch population eats fish two or three times a month.
  • In the latest food consumption survey (2007-2010), the intake of fish fatty acids (EPA and DHA) ranged between 62 and 133 mg/day.
  • There are indications that omega-3 fatty acids can slow down healing of wounds.
  • Krill oil is absorbed better by the body than fish oil (2/3 Krill oil dosage required for the same effect).
  • According to literature 1 to 2 grams of fish oil (EPA and DHA) will contribute to general health and counteract sports related inflammatory reactions (Simonopoulos 2007).
