Vitamin D has been the center of attention the last years. Vitamin D has many different functions and is important for the general health. Vitamin D contributes to the resistance and the maintenance of strong bones. It has recently been discovered that vitamin D is important for a normal muscle function, which could positively influence the sports performance. Some teams organize a sun-stage so athletes can create extra vitamin D. Especially indoor athletes like gymnasts, skaters and swimmers have to pay attention to their intake of vitamin D.
